POTATO DAY HAS BEEN GOING FOR THE PAST TEN YEARS,
YES, AND IT’S ALL BEEN DOWN TO YOUR SUPPORT, THREE BIG CHEERS!
Buying your seed potatoes here is a great way to mingle,
Whether it’s a bag of each, or maybe just a single,
It’s an event that brings us all together,
Battling through whatever the weather,
Seed potatoes are grown in bags or tubs, but mainly in the ground,
They’re now sold by the kilo and rarely by the pound.
Some people aspire to be a winner,
But for most of us, they’re grown for dinner.
Growing potatoes, Earlies or Lates,
Usually end up on our plates,
Some are Salad, lots are Jackets,
Some are Mash and come in packets.
Can end up as crisps, chips or roast,
Or even Hash Browns with egg on toast.
Some potatoes are pink, white, black or blue,
Something to try and said you grew.
Keeping fingers crossed that we’ve got plenty,
