If you came across a fire in a remote or rural location, how would you describe where it is when calling 999?
This is something to think about, because the chance of this happening where I live has been very high this past week especially.
There have been several field fires; for one friend, in a field neighbouring her home.
My granddaughter’s partner helped the firemen in this instance by putting up his drone so they could see the extent of the fire and direction it was travelling.
But even more scary was the major incident in our village a week ago, when a fire spread and ignited a large quantity of fertiliser. The explosion was like a huge bomb going off – it was heard and felt for miles, and over 100 firefighters worked non-stop for several days to put the fire out. A week later and the road next to it has only just opened. Many families including a friend, have lost their homes.
This shows the urgency of calling emergency services and knowing the exact location. This article is worth reading and sharing.
