On Friday 19 June, we hosted a People’s Emergency Briefing at Trust Links Rochford in partnership with Trust Links, which highlights the climate crisis and positive ways we can respond to it. We were pleased to have both local MPs in attendance, Bayo Alaba and David Burton-Sampson, showing their commitment to this important issue.

Our passionate panel made valuable contributions regarding our relationship with nature, the media’s coverage of the climate emergency and how society can respond to the environmental crisis both individually and collectively.
The film, hosted by Chris Packham, serves as a sobering wake-up call, highlighting the reality of climate change and its stark consequences for both people and nature. There is a clear economic case for necessary changes in transport, food production, energy, and our lifestyles. While these changes may come with costs, they also offer the potential for more sustainable, healthier, and happier lives, fostering connections within our local communities and with the planet we call home.
We are advocating for the Emergency to be broadcast across mainstream media, sparking a national conversation on how we address the crisis we are facing.
We encourage everyone to watch a Briefing (there are a few in the area) and consider hosting one yourself if you are part of a community group. Engaging with politicians, whether local or national, is crucial in pushing this initiative forward.
The next two Briefings are as follows:
