Wow, what a day! Last Tuesday the Essex Agricultural welcomed over 3,000 KS2 primary school children from 72 different schools across Essex to the Essex Schools Food & Farming Day they held at ARU Writtle. They were joined by Suffolk Farmer & TV presenter Jimmy Doherty (Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park) who saw first hand all the interactive learning about how our food gets from field to fork.

Writtle was also a good day for our SEEOG composting display and we were a great team. The timings of groups coming through really helped, giving us chances for breaks to look after ourselves and each other. We all enjoyed the day and achieved a great deal, plus the bonus of 15 schools offering their emails so we can connect with those at some point. 😊 Sharon and Jane’s passion and enthusiasm shone through and our tables looked amazing. Full credit to them for all the behind-the-scenes time and work.
