Thursday 4 June was the eighth Essex Schools Food and Farming Day when 3000 primary school pupils aged 8 to 11, from all over Essex, left their classrooms to experience the great outdoors at Writtle College and see for themselves how their food is produced.
The exhibition area was divided into five zones: Crops, Machinery, Countryside & Environment, Livestock, Food.
We were in the Crop Zone showing examples of seasonal vegetables, alongside ‘hands on’ compost and soil displays!
