Learn to be an Urban Food Grower
Hackney social enterprise Growing Communities is recruiting four volunteer
Apprentice Growers for the 2014 season. The apprenticeship runs from April
to the end of September and involves working for one or one and a half
days a week, plus monthly evening tutorials. Apprentices will work with
the growers to learn all aspects of running our Urban Market Gardens –
including growing our award-winning Hackney salad.
We are looking for enthusiastic people who are keen to learn about growing
food in a sustainable way, and who enjoy working outdoors and with other
people. We particularly welcome applications from sectors of the community
at risk of social exclusion.
The deadline for applications is 5pm Wednesday 19 February and interviews
