Trust Links have two related events coming up this Saturday in Shoeburyness and next Tuesday in Westcliff to encourage people to have a go at gardening and to share their skills with others. Hopefully the weather will have thawed out a bit by then!
The Big Dig aims to encourage local people to have a go at gardening and get involved in local community projects. They have opportunities in Shoeburyness, where volunteers will be the first people on site at the new Growing Together Shoeburyness garden on Saturday, literally breaking new ground and planting 420 saplings that will form a hedge around the perimeter of the garden. Next Tuesday local people will have an opportunity to have a go at gardening and plant a seed. A panel of experts will also be available to respond to gardening questions from the public at the Gardener’s Question Time.
The Big Dig in Shoeburyness will be at Elm Road allotments at 11 am – 2 pm on Saturday 16th March.
The Big Dig and Gardener’s Question Time will be at Growing Together Westcliff on Fairfax Drive at 2 pm – 4 pm on Tuesday 19th March.
