In less than a month it will be – National Honeybee Day!
Help us Celebrate our Precious Honeybees on August 21st.
We ask you to consider taking time and doing something to help the bees. Our golden winged friends need your help now more than ever. The systemic pesticide clothianidin has been shown to play a major role in the dire crisis in honeybee health. Despite a hive of hard work calling for a ban on clothianidin, the EPA recently gave the systemic pesticide a continued go ahead. This is sad news and shows us that it’s really up to each and every one of us to be the change we want to see in the world.
One great way to help make a difference would be to set up a screening at home or in a community space and invite all your friends and others in your community. We firmly believe spreading the buzz in the form of education is the first step toward affecting change and National Honeybee Day would be the perfect occasion for a screening and get together! Find more about hosting a screening here. http://www.vanishingbees.com/host-a-screening/
Another way to spread the buzz would be to donate a copy of our 30 minute educational version and study guide to a local school or library. Teachers have been raving that their students are taking steps to help the bees and our environment. As a result of seeing the film, students and schools are starting gardens, writing congress, and even getting beehives! Learn about our 30 minute classroom version and educational program here. http://www.vanishingbees.com/educational-version/
Thanks for being a part of the solution. The time to raise awareness is now!
Sweetly,
George and Maryam
