Square Foot Gardening

Mel Bartholomew coined the term “square foot gardening” in his 1981 book of the same name. The idea is to divide the growing area into small square sections (typically 12″ square); creating of a small, simple, intensively planted vegetable garden.

Peter Marett, a ‘retired’ SEEOG member, long since decamped to Suffolk, has kindly sent us a planting chart and some resource suggestions together with another publication he found on the Internet. Youtube, of course, has loads of videos but the best one he found is detailed on the attached chart at thefoodproject.org
